An Analysis of Contemporary Error Correction: Who, What, and How?
This paper was originally written for the E526 TESL/TEFL Methodology course. It's focus is on corrective feedback, an important part of second language acquisition, and also draws from contemporary communicative language teaching methods like CBI and CLT, as well as my own personal experience. Consequently, this paper reflects my teaching philosophy very accurately, and shows that I recognize how different theories have shaped our views of language learning. In addition, this paper's conclusions reflect my understanding that individual learner variables, like past experience, can effect language learning and should be taken into account in the classroom.
